This tutorial outlines the basic steps involved in event monitoring in telecommunications applications using Avaya Application Enablement Services (AE Services) Device, Media, and Call Control (DMCC) Java SDK.

This intermediate-level tutorial is intended for developers who have a working knowledge of telecommunications applications using the AE Services DMCC XML SDK.

Upon completion of this tutorial, the reader should be able to:

• Describe the various types of monitors that are supported by the DMCC Java API.
• Implement monitors for DMCC Java API applications.
