The Stock Quote application invokes the WebserviceX.NET Stock Quote Web Service to get stock information to read back to a caller. This application demonstrates how to import a Web Service Description Language (WSDL) file and create a Web service client using the built-in web service facilities of Avaya Orchestration Designer. Using this Web service, the application performs a stock quote query on any valid stock symbol listed on the NASDAQ provided by the caller. The last stock sale price, last sale date and time results are read back to the caller. The procedures described in the application's Design Note can be used to access any publicly available Web service that provides a WSDL file.

Stock Quote is not intended to be deployed "as is". Although Stock Quote is capable of being executed within the simulation capabilities of Orchestration Designer and on the Avaya Experience Portal platform, the project relies upon the interaction with a third party Web service, deployment of the project to an appropriate application server, and configuration of the necessary communications infrastructure with Experience Portal for successful execution in a runtime environment.
