Release 6.0

Avaya Orchestration Designer Release 6.0 was made generally available in August 2011; Service Pack 3 (Release 6.0.0.13.01) was issued October 2013. The Release 6.0 ISO image and Service Pack 3 JAR are available under the Downloads - Product Software tab. This is not the latest release of Orchestration Designer; the latest release is recommended for new development.

Important The following end of sale and end of support dates have been announced:
  • End of sale: December 8, 2020
  • End of support: December 8, 2021

Features in the new release

Avaya Orchestration Designer Release 6.0 includes the following new and enhanced features:

Speech and Call Control Application Development

Sample applications:

The software download includes over 20 sample applications that demonstrate the many features of Orchestration Designer. Release 6.0 includes one new sample application:

  • The Call MPS Application demonstrates interoperability between Orchestration Designer applications and Media Processing Server Developer applications.

Developer usability and productivity:

  • Support for compound conditionals in the Call Flow and Prompt Editors
  • Date and Time based routing in the Call Flow Editor

Simulation MRCP support:

  • Customers can use the simulator in conjunction with Nuance and Loquendo's TTS and ASR

End-user Customer Requests:

  • Improved efficiency of subdialog/modules
  • Specifying prompts and grammars by a variable
  • Applications shall support deploy/undeploy without requiring server restart
  • IPv6 support

Media Processing Server (MPS) interoperability:

  • Palette item added for calling MPS developer applications
  • New sample application demonstrates calling an MPS Developer application
  • Orchestration Designer applications can be launched by an MPS developer application
  • Support for MMF audio files
  • CTI connector renamed AE Services connector

Integration with the new Orchestration Designer framework:

  • New splash screens and rebranding
  • Support for co-residency with Avaya Aura Contact Center capabilities
  • New and updated product documentation

Support for third party products:

  • Oracle WebLogic 11G
  • Eclipse 3.6

Compatibility: Orchestration Designer Release 6.0 can be used to design and build speech applications that can run on:

  • Avaya Experience Portal Release 6.0
  • Voice Portal Release 4.0 and above
  • Interactive Response Release 1.3 and above
  • Media Processing Server

Avaya Aura Contact Center Application Development

Integration with the new Orchestration Designer framework:

  • New Splash Screens And Rebranding
  • Support For Co-Residency With Self Service Capabilities
  • New And Updated Product Documentation

Service Pack 3 includes a number of fixes and adds support for Tomcat 7, Java 7 and Eclipose 3.7.

Release 6.0

Orchestration Designer Release 6.0 is available free of charge to all Devconnect members. Note that the download file is very large (over 1.4 GB) and, depending on your geographical location will take between about 30 minutes to 3 hours to download. The download includes:

  • Orchestration Designer Software
  • Prerequisite software, including:
    • J2SE Development Kit
    • Tomcat
    • Eclipse and GEF
    • Microsoft Speech SDK
    • Stormcodec
  • Optional CCXML plug-In
  • Localization bundle files and documentation
  • Sample applications and documentation
