This is the first in a series of tutorials on the Avaya IP deskphone APIs - see Related Tutorials below for links to other tutorials in the series. This tutorial covers the available tools, their installation and necessary configuration steps required to execute Push and Web API browser applications on Avaya 4600 and 9600 Series IP deskphones.

This beginner-level tutorial is intended for application developers who wish to create applications that interact with Avaya IP deskphones using built-in browser and other phone display features. Upon completion of this tutorial, the reader will be able to install, configure and execute applications utilizing Push and Browser functionality for the Avaya 9600 Series IP deskphones.

The reader should know how to configure 9600 Series IP deskphones. The reader should also be familiar with scripting languages such as PHP, WML, etc.
