Hi,

New to Session Manager setup.

We recently got a setup in the lab with AES (6.2), ACM (6.x), and Session Manager. And the Phones are ALL SIP phones.

Can I control these SIP phones using the standard JTAPI (via AES) and make calls from one to another ?

Do I need something else in the setup here ? I read something about "SIP Enablement Service" - what is that ? Is that required when SIP phones are hooked up ?

Thanks!

Hi Arvind,

As long as the phones are Avaya phones and are configured with "Type of 3PCC Enabled: Avaya" on page 6 of the SAT "change station" screen, you will be able to control them using JTAPI.

"SIP Enablement Service" has been replaced by "Session Manager" so there is no need for you to have one. The equipment that you have is sufficient.

Hi Martin,

These are 9650 Avaya Phones.

I don't see any new screens in SAT - only up to Page 5 !

Don't see the option you mentioned.

What am I missing ?

Doh !

That was it :-)

I can take JTAPI control over the SIP phones now, after the changes you suggested.

This is a big relief for us.

Thank you very much for your help !
