Yes,

You can use Database Integration Wizard and after HDX connector in AAOD.

I'm wondering what steps are required to get started with HDX. I use MS Access 2010 on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine, and wonder how to get a 64 bit MS Access driver onto the 64 bit AACC Windows Server 08 R2, and set up a system DSN.

To complicate things, the AACC server is on its own workgroup rather than on the corporate domain.

Ideally I'd have the database residing on a network share so that floor managers can update a record through a front end app and have the AACC script query and branch according to the record return.

Any pointers appreciated.

You're on the right track; get that driver and ODBC connection on the AACC server and run through the Database Integration Wizard (DIW). Go into AAOD and add the DIW HDX connection to your script. More details in the AAOD documentation.

NB: the ODBC stuff you discuss is distinct from (and much simpler than) the WebServices you mentioned.
