Our site currently has Avaya IC 7.2.5 running on Windows Server 2003. I need to upgrade Windows to 2008 and then install Interaction Center (IC) 7.2.0 / upgrade to IC 7.2.3 and finally upgrade to IC 7.2.5. Questions- 1) Can I load and install IC 7.2.0 on a Windows Server 2008 and then upgrade to IC 7.2.5? 2) Will I be able to install IC 7.2.0 on a server running MSSQL 2008 in support of the IC upgrades -- IC 7.2.0 to IC 7.2.3 to IC 7.2.5? I thank you so very much for any help / guidance you can provide. Kind regards, timothy.stewart@xerox.com.

To address your first question, from this document

https://downloads.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100166784

"However, IC 7.2.5 is a cumulative Service pack, containing files from all previous Service Packs on IC 7.2 171
system (that is IC 7.2.1, IC 7.2.2, IC 7.2.3, IC 7.2.3.x Super patches, and IC 7.2.4). IC 7.2.5 Service Pack can 172
be installed on any of the previous IC Service Packs (that is IC 7.2.1, IC 7.2.2, IC 7.2.3, and IC 7.2.4) OR, any 173
of the SuperPatches (IC 7.2.3.x) that were applied on top of IC 7.2.3 Service Pack."

The implication in the wording is that it is wise to go from 7.2.0 to 7.2.1 before leapfrogging to 7.2.5

I suspect the answer to your second question is in this document
https://downloads.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100048586
but I do not know IC well enough to be sure.

Hi John Biggs,

Thank you so very much for taking the time to respond and direct me to appropriate Avaya IC documents. I am currently soaking my head in them both. Both our IC Database server MSSQL 2005 and IC Core servers were built on Windows 2003 (32bit) machines. We need to migrate to Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Therefore I will attempt to install IC 7.2.0 on a Windows 2008 (64bit) server and hope MSSQL 2008, also on a Win2008 server will work and allow me to install IC 7.2.0, then IC 7.2.3 (64bit support) and finally upgrade to IC 7.2.5. Trust me, there will lots of coffee and reviewing each step of this process.
Again many thanks for being there. Stay Well and be Blessed. Kind regards -- Tim
