We are not for profit Crisis and Suicide hotline, working on a project to improve the service we provide to those in need.

We are looking at the data flowing in and out of the Avaya system. Originally we expected the data to be framed by a simple carriage return line feed but the situation is more complex than this.

Question:

We see that all SMDR messages are prefixed with a preamble of 6 binary chars "00 02 00 00 00 00".

1. Can this 6 char preamble appear elsewhere, either as data or as a preamble to some other sorts of non-SMDR messages? In other words, all SMDR messages were prefixed with a preamble of 6 binary chars "00 02 00 00 00 00" is this uniquely used for this purpose?

We are running IP 500 v2 version 9.0.6.0. build 979 IP Office
