Hi Donna,
While the Read Spreadsheet file is available in the Integration drawer, REST may be your be approach for Writing to a spreadsheet. Since you mentioned flat file, a quick and dirty logscrubber workflow demonstrates use of the Notification;Log Message task to populate values into the ED logs, where secondary process can scrub for them. Not a prime time solution, but I'll attach the workflow as a placeholder until a more durable solution is identified (hosted .csv writable via REST may be one way).
