i have a record node with a Prompt with BargeIn=true and BargeIn Type=speech. The thing is no ASR Engine is connected to that EP, and the question is, do i need obligatory a ASR engine just to detect bargein? or EP by itself can detect speech using VAD (Voice Activity Detector) and used for bargein? Any special config in mppconfig.xml for that?

As I know, Voice Activity Detector (VAD) needs speech resources.

AAEP in release 7.2.3 has updated Voice Activity Detector (VAD) for cloud speech resources, take a look at this document on page 29:

i am not sure VAD needs speech resources, just to detect barge-in. In fact VAD is part of EP, not ASR engine. For example, VAD, without any speech resource, detect speech begining (and apply complete_timeout), etc. So that is the question, only for detect speech bargein in a record node, is it needed to buy and setup a Speech Resource (Nuance or similar...)? I suposse not.
