We are using Avaya Client SDK Windows 4.15.0.0 and one of our customers have performed a PEN test and informed us that the audio RTP traffic is not encrypted.

They want us to enable SRTP.

I can see in Avaya Agent for Desktop there is a option to enable SRTP and SRTCP.
See attached screenshot below.

Is there a way to enable this when using Avaya Client SDK for Windows?

Thanks
Ty

Hi,

You can use the following APIs to enable SRTP for Audio:
https://www.devconnectprogram.com/site/global/products_resources/avaya_client_sdk/programming_docs/current/windows/communication/api_refs/html/P_Avaya_ClientServices_SipUserConfiguration_SrtcpEnabled.htm

https://www.devconnectprogram.com/site/global/products_resources/avaya_client_sdk/programming_docs/current/windows/communication/api_refs/html/P_Avaya_ClientServices_SipUserConfiguration_MediaEncryptionTypeArray.htm

Hope this will help!

Thanks,

Does anyone know if you can encrypt media and signaling to the provider but not to the endpoint? I am connecting to Twilio, an internet sip trunk provider and they support SIP TLS and SRTP. Behind the cube I am running CUCM and all my phones are not encrypting neither signaling nor media. To keep things simple but secure I want to just encrypt the cube to provider leg. Is this possible? If someone knows for sure it’s not and why, it would save me a ton of time.
