Hello everyone,

I have 2 questions about POM setup and configuration:

1) Has anyone configured POM in HA environment? Why did you make the decision to configure POM in HA?

2) Why were you choosing to configure POM in HA versus ZONING or vice versa?

We have a project which Avaya recommended to the POM in Zoning, but not in HA.

Thank you very much for your responses.

I'll provide my take on Zones, HA, and DR

ZONES = Allow you to segment servers (AUXs and MPPs) into geographic zones to keep traffic more local.

HA = Using multiple AUXs, MPPs, and APP servers to allow services to keep running when some servers/services are down

DR = Using MS SQL Always On to share a POM DB between 2 Data Centers, consisting of identical configurations (meaning both Data centers have the same server configurations (HA and/or ZONES). This allows for a failover to the DR Data Center in case of a Primary Data Center outage.

You'll want to review the AEP guides for basic ZONE information plus the POM Guides for how it uses the AEP ZONES.
Here is a good POM HA Guide https://support.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/101073068
Otherwise, the other Avaya guides make reference to how ZONES, HA, and DR are used in AEP and POM.

I hope this helps
