When renaming a project variable, the change does not propagate to the code.

I this example, the original variable name was "ConstantsPVDN.eidDefault".
I renamed it to "ConstantsPVDN.vdn_eidDefault".

The change was saved and project rebuilt. No errors were reported.

The original variable remained in the code, and the property view showed a blank.

I can't reproduce this. Can you reproduce this problem with a different variable?

Tried a different variable and got the same result.

In this example, changed the variable "alist" to "alistX".

If I change the complex variable name, that works. But changing a field variable does not work.

I've tried mimicking what you are doing. I still can't reproduce. Have you tried it on a brand new project? Check the workspace/.metadata/.log to see if there is any error there.
