Hi,

I'm trying to RegisterTerminal on extension 8003 and it is timing out. It is setup the same as 8002 which takes between 5-10 seconds to respond. I was wondering why 8003 is timing out and why 8002 is taking 5-10 seconds to respond. Both are extensions without a physical set associated with it.

See attached.

at the SAT do a 'list trace ras ip-station 8003' as you attempt to register for more details on what may be failing.

From this message my assumption is that the station password is not 1234 - try retyping it, but there are many reasons authentication can fail... CM's trace knows best in this situation. Note that it did not happen for x8002 - thus one assumes there is a difference in config of some form. Double check they are provisioned the same (use the SAT to do a 'duplicate station 8002 start 8004 count 1' and try with station 8004).

It was the password on 8003, thanks!

I'll have to check into getting access to SAT.

Got deviceId on 8003, started monitors, started the trace then RegisterTerminal. Below is the trace output. There's a 6 second pause.

what is the question? Why does registration take 6 seconds? Because it does. It isnt a pause, there is a TON of work going on ... look a the DMCC trace log to see some of that activity, and that is only what the station is being told. CM has to set itself up as well, opening sockets, communicating about various things, pumping up lamp, ringer, display information, labeling buttons, etc etc, that are getting done. It is not as simple as a hello/hello exchange. Be happy it isn't minutes (which it can be if CM is under load), station registration is a near background task to the PBX. It also varies by station type, and which DMCC mode is being used for registration, it also varies if the device will be getting media or not.

Yes, my question was why does it take so long. Ok. I've never seen it take that long to RegisterTerminal. I thought maybe something was misconfigured. Thanks.
