The user.start() method will resolve when the server address is wrong. Is this intended behaviour or is this a bug? This also happens in the "Communication Services Package Sample App". Filling in the wrong Server address will still show that the user is logged in, but the console shows many errors.

How is it possible to know that the server address was wrong?

This is intended. user.start() will resolve if any of the SDKs services started successfully. You can check for the success of the individual have successfully started by watching the individual service states. For example calls.addOnCallsServiceAvailableCallback() calls.addOnCallsServiceUnavailableCallback()
