Avaya's latest softphone (one-x) is a software package which needs to be installed on machine. Has there been a solution where
1. Has there been a solution from Avaya where Softphone interface has been web-based and One-x (Or any other softphone implementation from Avaya) doesnt have to be installed on machine?
2. This web interface terminates voice call on the desktop using a different voice client (Say google voice)

3. Can we implement a solution where we don't need Avaya softphone client, we just develop a local softphone client which replaces Avaya one-x and still registers with switch?

1. I do not know of any such product.

2. I am not sure what you mean.

3. You may develop your own H.323 Softphone. You can use the DMCC SDK to deal with the signalling (button presses, lamps, display etc). You will need to provide your own RTP stack in order to handle the media stream.
