From the DMCC FAQ:

'Registering a terminal allows the application access to the signaling and possibly the media of the DCP or IP telephone, or an extension that is administered for softphone access on Communication Manager. Only devices that are speaker phone enabled can be successfully registered. A speaker phone is required so that Communication Manager can force the device off-hook when performing call control actions (makeCall, answer) or physical device hook-switch control.'

Stations of type 7434ND are not speaker-phone equipped and so cannot be used for shared control by a DMCC application.
