» How to change application name?, 28/04/2017 06:40:30

Hi,
There is a need to keep an old version of application on a server for backward compatibility. The application name is APPL01. This name I have in OD as a project name. Also I see that this name is used in "internal" project files (for example in adminvarinfo.xml).
A new version of application must have APPL02 name. So, war file and all it's internals must be refactored to renamed application.
How to do it correctly?
I know that I (probably) have the following possibilities:
1. Use project refactor-rename option. I am not sure that in OD speech projects that'll be correct.
2. Make another application and try to make it the same: copy-past (I really do not want to do it as it is very time consuming).
3. Try to play with already existed APPL01 in the meaning of import the project under the different name (APPL02).
Gurus, could you please give me a direction?
I would be very appreciate for your help!
Thanks,
Vasily.

And one more stuff which worry me since I was involved in OD applications development: why java class file generator uses tab sign instead of 4 spaces rule?
Probably it could be useful to add an option to use "4 spaces instad of tab" in Avaya Aura Preferences near by timestamp generation settings...

Hi,
One more minor proposal.
I wanted to add a comment/description for a complex variable.
But it is possible to add a comment only to the fields when the root element has no such property.

Hi WilsonYu,
Hm...
Seems that I did not catch the entire idea.
Please confirm\disapprove...
Application has a "global" transitional audio property.
So, If I add an "Announce" node (with a new transition audio property) before "Data" node then I would need to add an additional "Announce" node after "Data" with changing back transition audio property to its "global" state.
Am I right?
Thanks for your patience!
Vasily

Hi Guys!
I need to play a special sound during a long web service operation.
Application already contains a transient audio but I need to change it for a particular operation.
Is it possible to do it in OD?
I thought that it is possible with "Property" usage but in the "Data" item I cannot add a Property item (like with Prompt and Collect element).
For example, I see that it is possible to do that in transfer.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Vasily.

And one more proposal regarding highligting/navigation.
I have a lot of java files in the flow package.
Sometimes it is quite difficult to find dedicated block on the main flow.
It may be useful to have possibility to navigate to that block.
Not sure how to implement such navigation, so, as an alternative just highlight it.

One more proposal regarding highlighting in the main flow editor.
When you click symbolic node on the flow then the block it is connected is highlighted with yellow color.
I think vice-versa highlighting could be useful.
From my point of view it will be informative if you highlight all symbolic nodes which linked to that (selected) dedicated block.

Hi WilsonYu,
Thanks for clarifications.
In that case I see a scenario with a minor problem.
1. Add "Data" block. Save.
2. Add something inside.
3. Remove "Data" block.
4. Make sure that Tasks contain a task for class file.
5. Mark task as a completed and remove it.
After that I still have a "warning" sign on "src" folder in Speech Navigator. Clean-Rebuild - did not help.
Of cause it is a very minor. But I see it a little bit confusing. Please check the screen shots attached.
Problems tab is also empty.

Do you mean if I add the code directly (manually) in the Java class or it has been added automatically after a added something in the block logic (in the flow editor double click the block and add logic)?
I am asking this since I don't add anything manually in the class file but after block removal the class file is still alive.

Oops...
It is not a warning but a task sign...
Now I see...
Well, I still have question: why java class is not deleted when node is deleted?

Another situation:
When you add block to the flow (in flow editor) then a Java file is added for that block.
But when you delete a block (in flow editor) then Java file is not deleted. And it become alone, not connected to any functionality.
If I correctly understand this java files are marked with "exclaim sign inside yellow triangle" in speech navigator like a general warning. And as a consequence the whole project has this "warning" attribute. In the same time I see nothing in the Problems view.
So, improvement proposals are:
1. Delete Java code when a block is deleted in flow editor.
2. Show warning message in problems view when Java class is not connected to any block (of cause I mean only the default "flow" package).

Yes, it is possible to do that.
But sometimes it is not fast as it could be. You need click a block, then you need to wait a while to be selected and only after that you need click again. If you click too fast then you will open that block instead of renaming it.
When you have a lot of elements and you need to rework the flow it looks quite annoying getting inside a block.
Of cause I am not push you to keep that in mind since it could be only my problem and other designers do not see it at all.
So, it is up to you to treat it as an improvement or caprice.

Hi!
During development OD applications you need to rename a lot of blocks on the main.flow.
Probably it will be a good idea to allow "F2" button to rename selected block (the same as in windows: you just select folder -> press F2 -> enter a new title).
