I am thinking that you send some call related data to kick off the workflow instance, probably that call data already has TS that you can use or you would have to add a TS to that call data

There s no ED provided way currently to get TS

you can send current TS with the data that you start workflow with and use it later it email

you can inline ref, something of sort

This is not possible out of box

It would depend on the interface of your sms connector service, if it accepts http - then you can make http calls from your sms task
