Avaya Aura Communication Manager

Release 8.1

Avaya Aura Communication Manager Release 8.1 was made generally available in June 2019 as part of Avaya Aura Platform Release 8.1. This is NOT the latest Communication Manager release; the latest release is recommended for new development.

Important The following end of sale and end of support dates have been announced:
  • End of sale: December 13, 2021
  • End of support: March 6, 2023
Additional information about the end of sale and end of support dates can be found here. For all new development, Avaya recommends that developers use the latest release of Avaya Aura Communication Manager.

New in Release 8.1

Communication Manager 8.1 includes the following new and enhanced capabilities:

  • Crisis Alert (crss-alert) button support is added for SIP phones.
  • No hold conference (no-hld-cnf) button support is added for SIP phones.
  • DMCC API enhancements to allow external recording applications to request split stream recording.
