About The Sample Application

The Insurance Services sample application demonstrates some new features of Avaya Orchestration Designer Release 6.0 using an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) call flow model that illustrates how these features might be useful in an Insurance Company self services scenario. The call flow allows clients to obtain a sample quotation, obtain a copy of a previously filed policy document and arrange for a broker call out to their home.

This application provides a launch pad for developers who wish to leverage the new features offered by Avaya Orchestration Designer Release 6.0. By examining the construction of the application, you will gain insight and understanding of IVR constructs and techniques that you can employ in the development of your own self service applications. In addition, the application demonstrates a number of intermediate and advanced speech application features, such as database operations, dynamic prompting, servlets and audio recording.

Insurance Services is not intended to be deployed "as is". Although Insurance Services is capable of being executed within the simulation capabilities of Avaya Orchestration Designer and on the Avaya Experience Portal platform, the project relies upon the creation and population of a MySQL database, deployment of the project to an appropriate application server, and configuration of the necessary communications infrastructure with Avaya Experience Portal for successful execution in a runtime environment.
