J100 Series SIP Software Release 2.0

J100 SIP Software Release 2.0.0.0 was made generally available in April 2018 for installation on the Avaya J129, J169, and J179 IP Phones. This is NOT the latest release of SIP software for installation on the J129, J169, and J179 IP Phones. The latest release is recommended for new development.

J100 Series SIP Software Release 2.0 does not support the Avaya Deskphones Push and Web APIs or any associated push types.

Features in the new release

The Avaya J129, J169, and J179 IP Phones using J100 Series SIP Software Release 2.0.0.0 software are supported for installations with:

  • Avaya Aura Platform releases 6.2 FP4, 7.0.0, 7.0.1, and their associated service packs
  • Avaya Aura Platform releases 7.1.0, and 8.0.0, and their associated feature and service packs
  • Avaya Aura Call Center Elite releases 6.3.6, 7.0.1.0, and 7.1.0.0 (J169 and J179 only)
  • IP Office 10.0 SP2 or later (J129 only)
  • IP Office Release 11.0 or later
  • Select Third Party Call Control platforms including Broadsoft Broadworks R21 SP1, Zang Office R1.0 and Edgewater Network device (Edgemarc 4550)

J100 SIP Software Release 2.0.0.0 introduces the following features:

  • Redesigned user interface for J169 and J179 IP Phones
  • Guest Login support for J169 and J179 IP Phones
  • J100 Wireless Module support for J129 and J179, providing WLAN connectivity
  • J169 and J179 support for improved interworking with IP Office 11.0
  • Administrator option to turn off audio branding
  • Administrator option to autofill the previous logged-in user on User log-in screen
  • Administrator option to configure Voicemail key as a softkey on J129 Phone
  • Support for Avaya Device Enrollment Services
  • J169/J179 support for: Opus codec, handset profiles, and contact name formatting
  • J129 support for: FIPS 140-2, Display call forward from original dialed station, dual-stack IPv4/IPv6
