J100 Series SIP Software Release 4.0

J100 SIP Software Release 4.0.0.0 was made generally available in December 2018 for installation on Avaya J129, J139, J169, and J179 IP Phones; Release 4.0.1.0 was issued in April 2019; Release 4.0.2.0 was issued in July 2019.

J100 SIP Software Release 4.0.3.0 was issued in October 2019 for installation on Avaya J129, J139, J159, J169, and J179 IP Phones; Release 4.0.4.0 was issued in January 2020; Release 4.0.5.0 was issued in April 2020; Release 4.0.6.0 was issued in June 2020.

J100 SIP Software Release 4.0.6.1 was issued in August 2020 for installation on Avaya J129, J139, J159, J169, J179, and J189 IP Phones; Release 4.0.7.0 was issued in October 2020; Release 4.0.8.0 was issued in February 2021; Release 4.0.9.0 was issued in April 2021; Release 4.0.10.0 was issued in July 2021; Release 4.0.11.0 was issued in February 2022; Release 4.0.12.0 was issued in April 2022; Release 4.0.13.0 was issued in July 2022; Release 4.0.14.0 was issued in October 2022. This is NOT the latest release of SIP software for installation on Avaya J129, J139, J159, J169, J179, and J189 IP Phones. The latest release is recommended for new development.

J100 SIP Release 4.0.1.0 introduces support for the WML browser and Display push type on the J169 and J179 IP Phones. The browser and Display push type is also supported on the J189 IP Phone in SIP Release 4.0.6.1 and higher. Release 4.0.6.0 introduces support for display of WML Push images while an incoming call is in progress. J100 SIP Release 4.0.11.0 introduces support for the WML browser on the J159 IP Phone. J100 SIP Release 4.0 does not support the Audio Transmit or Phonexml push type. More push type support information is available under the Downloads -> Push and Web APIs tab.

J100 SIP Release 4.0.14.0 adds:

  • Support for configuring and selecting a background or screensaver for J100 Expansion Module (JEM)
  • HTTP-enabled Location Delivery (HELD) - delivery of a phone IP address and MAC address upon bootup
  • Option to select an alternate Send All Calls (SAC) feature icon distinct from the Do Not Distrub (DND) icon
  • Hotline Intercom call state visual indicator on phone
  • Support for Hotline Intercom call auto-answer mode & auto-mute on answer
  • A Restart softkey on the phone SIP login screen

J100 SIP Release 4.0.13.0 introduces:

  • Bridged Call Appearance support on J139
  • An optional Night softkey on J179 that dims the display in lowlight conditions
  • Support for multiple client identity certificates
  • Default use of factory certificate whenever connecting to Device Enrollment Services
  • Support for Administrator to view certificates installed on a phone via CLI command
  • Support for install and display of certificates on a phone using the Web UI
  • Support for selecting a destination number using autodial, contacts, recents, busy-indicator and team for functions such as Call Forward, Whisper Page, and Priority
  • Features for use with Avaya Cloud Office:
    • Support for using a bridged call appearance line to select the target for a transfer or conference
    • Support for Administrator to define the default SIP Line used for regular calls
    • A new setting to disable Server Do Not Disturb.

J100 SIP Release 4.0.12.1 includes fixes only and no new features.

J100 SIP Release 4.0.12.0 introduces:

  • Call Center Agent Mode for use with Avaya OneCloud
  • Support for disabling customization of feature keys
  • Display of Avaya Aura System Manager-defined buttons on a line key if button is designated as favorite
  • A Restore option on the Customization menu when phone is configured in Aura mode
  • Automatic designation of Avaya Aura System Manager-defined buttons configured on a button module as a favorite
  • Support for PEAP method of preconfiguring a phone for deployment on a network that enforces EAP authentication
  • Centralized call logs when phone is used with Avaya Cloud Office
  • Centralized personal contacts when phone is used with Avaya Cloud Office

J100 SIP Release 4.0.11.0 adds:

  • J159 support for WML browser
  • J159 support for agent login and logout buttons
  • Support for SIP proxies in FQDN format in an Avaya Aura environment
  • Logging improvements for simplification

J100 SIP Release 4.0.10.0 introduces:

  • J159 support for USB-A headsets, including call control
  • Support for automatic dialing to Avaya Spaces via Microsoft Exchange calendar
  • Ability for end user to define choice of ringtone for users within the company
  • Phone off-hook alert

J100 SIP Release 4.0.9.0 includes:

  • USB keyboard support on the J159 and J189 IP Phones
  • USB Memory Flash support on the J159 and J189 IP Phones

J100 SIP Release 4.0.8.0 introduces:

  • Support for sending push messages securely over HTTPS
  • J159 support for Bluetooth headsets with the optional J100 Wireless Module installed
  • Support for Do Not Disturb presence and Do Not Disturb/Send All Calls feature button synchronization in both directions
  • Support for 12 digit enrollment codes from Device Enrollment Services
  • Support for periodic checks for, and application of, new settings and firmware
  • Support for secure syslog transport using TLS instead of UDP

J100 SIP Release 4.0.7.1 adds:

  • Support for additional customized softkey sets for primary call appearance and shared lines
  • J189 support of Super Wide Band Opus codec for HD+ audio quality

J100 SIP Release 4.0.7.0 introduces:

  • Support for customization of softkey sets and addition of softkeys to most call states for primary and shared lines
  • Calendar integration support for OAuth authorization
  • Support for CTI applications to control the Service Observing feature
  • Agent playback of recorded greeting to caller during a call

J100 SIP Release 4.0.6.1 introduces:

  • Support for the J189 IP Phone

  • J169 and J179 support for J100 Expansion Module (JEM24) with 24 red/green indicator buttons
  • Inclusion of six built-in background images and six built-in screensavers on the J169 and J179, which are coordinated with the attached JEM24(s)
