Release 8.1.2

Avaya Session Border Controller for Enterprise 8.1.2 was made generally available in December 2020. This is NOT the latest release of Avaya SBCE. The latest release is recommended for new development.

Important The following end of sale and end of support dates have been announced:
  • End of sale: December 13, 2021
  • End of support: March 20, 2023

Features in the new release

Avaya SBCE 8.1.2 includes the following new and enhanced features and more:

  • Expanded Avaya SBCE OPEN API to more fully automate configuration and management of the SBCE devices
  • Introduced DAT template feature in release 8.1.2. to help quickly provision new systems from scratch
  • Simultaneous Recording through SIPREC. Simultaneous Recording through SIPREC Simultaneous setup of recording streams with different recorders as per SIPREC specification
  • Support of URN mapping for NG 911 Basic calls
  • The Avaya SBCE automation and configuration API provides a method in which the system can be administered and managed by any third-party management entity. Typical examples of third-party management is an SBC virtual machine bundled with Avaya Equinox Conferencing Release 10, which will be an early adopter for these APIs using a template script
  • DNS-SRV support for Trunk Registrations - The DNS SRV feature is used to identify the highest priority server resolved to this FQDN so that Avaya SBCE can register to that server
  • Avaya SBCE query LDAP server for authenticating the endpoints on receiving SIP REGISTER messages from the endpoints
