IMPORTANTEffective April 9 2019, Avaya is no longer providing support for CS 1000 Release 7.6. Release 7.6 is the final CS 1000 software release. Additional information can be found here. Avaya offers a variety of modernization paths for CS 1000 customer migration, including Avaya Aura® and Avaya IP Office™ Platforms, and Avaya Cloud Solutions. These newer solutions not only protect customers' investments, but provide solution capabilities in keeping with current market demands for omni-channel and unified communications solutions. |
Avaya Communication Server 1000 (CS 1000) includes the following application development interfaces:
SIP Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) API
The SIP CTI API enables third-party applications to access CS 1000's call processing and telephony features, to provide functionality such as Click-to-dial and presence-enablement.

On-site Notification (OSN) Teletype (TTY) Output
OSN for Emergency Services Access (ESA) system messages, output by CS 1000, can be collected and processed by dedicated TTY output devices.
Location Information Service (LIS)
LIS allow third-party applications to discover IP devices from the CS 1000s in a network, determine the location of each IP device, and update location information on the CS 1000s. LIS is used by the Discovery Manager product.
Emergency Manager Automatic Location Identification (ALI)
ALI enables certain On-site Notifications (OSNs) output by CS 1000 to be monitored by a third party application.

Meridian Link Services (MLS)
MLS is a proprietary protocol that enables third-party application developers to extend the functionality of applications, particularly in the call center arena. MLS is a primary interface for implementation of complex contact center and call routing applications, as well as a required interface for Voice Recording applications on CS 1000. Use of MLS is granted only through license agreement and payment of an annual license fee.
