New in Release 4.0

Proactive Contact release 4.0 contains a significant number of security enhancements. In particular:

  • If you are using the Agent API, the Agent Server in Proactive Contact 4.0 will now communicate using Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Avaya supplies several new binaries, including a signed CA certificate, which will need to be added to the trusted CA store on systems where custom agent applications are running.
  • If you are utilizing the Event Service SDK, Proactive Contact 4.0 will migrate from a IIOP-based CORBA implementation to on based on SSLIOP. For all client applications to properly work with the new SSLIOP Event Service, a recompilation will be required using additional CORBA TAO libraries. Avaya will also supply new CA certificates as well as CORBA client certificates. There is also a modification as to how the Naming Service will be accessed.
  • Event Service SDK clients that have been developed using Java ORB will need to be modified to use JacORB, as Java ORB does not support SSLIOP directly.
