J100 Series SIP Software Release 3.0

J100 SIP Software Release 3.0 was made generally available in July 2018 for installation on Avaya J129, J139, J169, and J179 IP Phones. This is NOT the latest release of SIP software for installation on Avaya J129, J139, J169, and J179 IP Phones. The latest release is recommended for new development.

J100 SIP Software Release 3.0 introduces initial support for the Avaya Deskphone Push API, and more specifically, support for receipt of a Top Line, Subscribe, or Audio push. Release 3.0 does not support recording of an Audio push, or other push types. More push type support information is available under the Downloads -> Push API tab.

Important The following end of sale and end of support dates have been announced:
Avaya IP Deskphone Models: J169 For all new development, Avaya recommends that developers use the latest available SIP software release.

Features in the new release

The Avaya J129, J139, J169, and J179 IP Phones using the latest version of J100 Series SIP Software Release 3.0 are supported with:

  • Avaya Aura Platform releases 6.2 FP4, 7.0.0, 7.0.1, and their associated service packs
  • Avaya Aura Platform releases 7.1.0, and 8.0.0, and their associated feature and service packs
  • Avaya Aura Call Center Elite releases 7.0.1.0, 7.1.0.0, and 8.0.0.0 (J169 and J179 only)
  • IP Office 10.0 SP7 or IP Office 10.1 SP3 (J129 only)
  • IP Office Release 11.0 or later (J139 requires 11.0 SP1 or later)
  • Select Third Party Call Control platforms including Broadsoft Broadworks R21 SP1, Zang Office R1.0 and Edgewater Network device (Edgemarc 4550)

J100 SIP Releases 3.0.0.1 and 3.0.0.2 include fixes only, and no new features.

J100 SIP Release 3.0.0.0 introduces the following features:

  • J139 IP Phone support
  • Support for the following PushAPI push types on J139, J169 and J179 IP Phones:
    • Top Line
    • Unicast Audio Receive
    • Multicast Audio Receive
    • Subscribe
  • Numeric Enrollment Code (NEC) support for improved Device Enrollment Services capability
  • Support for interworking with Broadsoft Device Management

  • Subscribe

Release 3.0 does not support WML browser and the Display push type, the Audio Transmit or Phonexml push types, or recording of an Audio push.
