What version of Communication Manager are you using? What Media processor?

As far as I can gather, the connection to a DSP phone is TDM (Time Division Multiplexing). So all information (media & signaling) is digital.

It may be that the format of the data is proprietary which would make it difficult to record directly.

The approved method of recording is to use DMCC.

The best way to monitor for problems with a session is to monitor for
ServerConnectionDownEvents, ServerConnectionNotActiveEvents, and

You can see the configured TSAPI ports from the AE Services Web Interface. Use the menu on the left - Networking -> Ports. You can get some more information on the ports from the Help link.

The AE Services is a separate server which allows third party applications to interact with the Communication Manager. I do not know how much the hardware or software cost.

For most applications, a TSAPI and/or DMCC licanse will be required per station monitored. The exact licensing requirements will depend on the features used.

In your case, I think TSAPI/JTAPI/DMCC Call Control would be the most appropriate. You will probabaly require one TSAPI license per monitored station.

I do not know of any other way that you can get the information you require.

CDRs are produced at the end of a call.

You can be informed that a call has arrived at a station using the DMCC (Call Control), JTAPI or TSAPI APIs. These will also be able to give you Calling party & Called party details. This is the preferred mechanism. Which API you use would be dictated by your own preferences. For example, if you program in Java, you would need to use DMCC or JTAPI.

I think you would have problems trying to sniff this information from the data between the phone and Communication Manager. It may be included in propriatary messages, be encrypted, not be present or not be consistent.
