Avaya Session Border Controller

Latest Release: 10.1.2 (June 2023)

Overview

The Avaya Session Border Controller (SBC) (formerly Avaya Session Border Controller for Enterprise) is a flexible, fit for purpose solution for enterprises that includes a set of standard security features. The Avaya SBC provides all the functionality required for an enterprise to terminate SIP trunks without the complexity and higher price associated with typical SBCs, and scales up to 2,000 simultaneous sessions per server.

SPECIAL NOTE The following two changes in Avaya SBC (formerly ASBCE) Release 10.1.2 may impact third-party integrations:
  • Aura System Manager Root CA Certificate
Release 10.1.2 requires the root Certificate Authority (CA) to have a minimum key size of 2048 bits and algorithm of SHA256withRSA. Additional information about this change can be found in Administering Avaya Aura System Manager.
  • TLS 1.0 no longer supported in SBC 10.1.2
The latest SBC load (release 10.1.2) no longer supports TLS 1.0 or 1.1. Only TLS 1.2 and 1.3 are supported. Additional information about this change to TLS support can be found on pages 332 and 346 in Administering Avaya Session Border Controller.
