Latest Release: 10.1.2 (June 2023)

Release 10.1.2

Avaya Session Border Controller (SBC) 10.1.2 (formerly Avaya Session Border Controller for Enterprise [ASBCE]) was made generally available in June 2023. Service Pack 1 (Release 10.1.2.1) was issued in December 2023. This is the latest release of Avaya SBC and is recommended for new development.

SPECIAL NOTE The following two changes in Avaya SBC (formerly ASBCE) Release 10.1.2 may impact third-party integrations:
  • Aura System Manager Root CA Certificate
    Release 10.1.2 requires the root Certificate Authority (CA) to have a minimum key size of 2048 bits and algorithm of SHA256withRSA. Additional information about this change can be found in Administering Avaya Aura System Manager.
  • TLS 1.0 no longer supported in SBC 10.1.2
    The latest SBC load (release 10.1.2) no longer supports TLS 1.0 or 1.1. Only TLS 1.2 and 1.3 are supported. Additional information about this change to TLS support can be found on pages 332 and 346 in Administering Avaya Session Border Controller.

New in Release 10.1.2

Avaya SBC 10.1.2 includes the following new and enhanced features and more:

  • Introduced Single IP support mechanism to ensure the same listen IP can talk to a unique connect IP towards Avaya Aura Communication Manager
  • Added support for TLS version 1.3 and ended support for TLS v1.0 and 1.1
  • Achieved JITC compliance as well as JITC certification for RHEL version 8.4
  • Support for high availability on Google Cloud Platform deployments
  • Added automatic blacklisting of network source IP addresses as a security measure designed to prevent access to networks from malicious or attacking sources
  • Introduced Real-time Transport Control Protocol Multiplexing (RTCP-Mux) allowing RTP and RTCP to share the same channel for incoming streams directed towards the Avaya SBC
