Hi,
Are we able to force a beep tone onto a station using any of the AES protocols/APIs? We want to write a custom application that beeps on agent phones when there are calls waiting in certain queues. I know 'q-calls' button can be programmed. But, we need to introduce a beep.

you can single step in a DMCC client media mode application that plays the beep to the agent and then drops out. If you use the silent mode option with single step conference, there will be no impact to the display for the agent. The only problem would be if the conference limit for the call was reached (already a six party call).

There is no mechanism I am aware of to use Communication Manager sourced tones for this purpose.

If you only want the agent to hear the tone, you can use the selectiveListenHold capability of DMCC Call Control services in release 6.0+ (which requires an advanced TSAPI License to use).
