I'm testing API calls with the AES smsxml_test.php page and I keep getting the "Fault: Connection Failed: Outbound OSSI connection could not be established" error. The requests I'm submitting to the test page are copied from sample requests I've received from Avaya that should work. This leads me to believe that the issue may be on the server side of my calls.

I've searched around online and through Avaya's documentation and haven't found anything about what an OSSI connection is other than that it is related to the ModelField element.

If anyone knows what this error means or how to fix it please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

There is a known issue with AES 10.1.2 that manefests like you describe. There was a patch made available for it. The fix to AES-31333 is in the base product build for 10.1.3; I would upgrade and retest.

see
https://www.devconnectprogram.com/fileMedia/download/d00f0dd2-cde4-4379-a9ff-a72d71c6cb7d
and search for AES-31333

The error means that AES can not open a socket to Communication Manager for the purpose of doing SMS work.
