After loading the OD 8.1.2. runtime files in Tomcat 9, I am finding that anytime tomcat service is restarted, a new iteration of /odapplogs/aesconnector/trace.log is generated in the directory from which the stop/start commands were run. The logs then begin writing to that new iteration, and I now have four iterations created in the different locations from which the stop/start commands were executed. The logs only write to the latest iteration.

I am unable to determine what configuration or process is generating this directory structure and directing the loge to that new trace.log in the location where the Tomcat stop/start commands are executed.

Please advise how this can be configured to generate the log file in a single location no matter how Tomcat is restarted.

Thanks

Hi.

I read on your post After loading the OD 8.1.2. runtime files in Tomcat 9. Are you using the EP 8.1.2 ?

If yes, take a look at this interesting doc 'About aesconector trace log '

https://support.avaya.com/ext/index?page=content&id=SOLN376882

in the 'Solution' section at step c)

"c. Edit this line to tell aesconnector where to create the log file: .... Or it will just create the trace.log file in ....."

This doc refers to the Apache Tomcat coming with the EPM 8.1.2 server (running on Avaya Linux OS RH-based), anyway you can search for the same 'aeslog4j2.xml' file on Apache Tomcat running on Windows OS (it should be here: TOMCAT_HOME\webapps\aesconnector\WEB-INF\aeslog4j2.xml) then edit the same line.
