Using the BDE and documented extensions 32130 and 32131 we can't get past "register terminal". We get an XML response of "unspecified" back.

are you using the stock config, (host only) or did you switch to a networked config?
If you switched to a network config did you remember to change the configuration of the NIC in VMware to 'bridged'?
