Hi, I'm trying to record a call with the dashboard application and I get an error message CSTAErrorCode unspecified.
The config settings are Client Mode and Dependent.
Checking the AES log files (mvap-trace.log.0) I found this:

FINE: Client sent RedirectMediaRequest to IDLE terminal.
[...] java exception [...]
Media cannot be redirected while in the 'IDLE' state
Must be in the 'REGISTERED' state.
[...]

I have a call established with the extension used to connect and record.

Any ideas?

Have you read "     DevConnect Developer Guide: Developing Client-side Call Recording Applications using Avaya Application Enablement Services (899 KB .pdf)" from the devconnect portal. while it does not detail the steps from a DMCC perspective to get to the point you would get RTP it defines the high level mechanism.

My guess as to why you are getting the error you describe is that the DMCC device you have is not registered, and further not connected to the call you are trying to record. guessing further, the registration failed for some reason (given you mention config settings for client media and dependent mode). Back up adn review the logs and see why the indication is that you are not registered.
