We have 2 app servers with cticonnector installed and we saw both trace logs appear to restart cticonnector at axactly the same time with the error

30/08/2010 21:14:47 DEBUG - ProviderObserver.providerChangedEvent: got providerobservation event, got provider to shutdown

one of the cticonnectors restarted and the DD application appeared to work fine and the other kept throwing errors

30/08/2010 21:26:46 ERROR - No observer on extension:4837210

How do I upload log files?

The CTIC will be notified of the loss of a Provider when the event you indicate below is sent. It will then reattempt to get the Provider periodically. It appears that happened with both app servers, however as you stated one (or more) of the observers did not come up. If this is repeatable, you will need to gather a JTAPI log (and possibly AES) to further analyze why those observers are not valid. The CTIC makes a request to begin observing an extension and in your case, that request failed. There is little information on the CTIC side as to why that failure occured.

To gather a JTAPI log, edit your tsapi.pro and set debug = 7 and restart the CTIC. I would advise only gathering a JTAPI log until the error occurs, then turning that debug back off (set to 0) or the JTAPI log will grow very large. The JTAPI log is called tsapi_trace.txt and resides in the app server root dir.

We have a portion of the AES log at the time of the failure

Any ideas?

I would open a case with Avaya Customer support for the AES/JTAPI team to have them analyze this log. It looks like a configuration or network/server related issue with connectivity, but I don't have the expertise to analyze these logs in detail.

Thanks - we did open a ticket and will pursue the issue with support.

I opened a ticket and they have increased the tracing level on AES. They are asking to increase tracing on the client side. I am setting the tsapi_pro.ini item to "debugLevel=7". They are saying the Devconnect needs to look at the cticonnector side. Are there any other settings to increase log file verbosity?

FYI - the Avaya ticket is Avaya Case Nr: 15997012

Looks like you should be using a secure connection (csta-s) instead of non secure (csta)
