I would like to report a problem, maybe it is a bug.
If a vdu field contains ".", in the DD field variable name it must be substituted by "__DOT__". The vdu_cache complex variable automatically creates the same fields.
After i get edu fields using GetVDU fields itemit should automatically fill vdu_cache fields, but fields contain __DOT__ will be empty. I should fill them with Assign item using vdu field as source variable, and it results a VOX operation at each field.

Sounds like there could be a bug. Let me run some tests and get back to you.

I'm facing with same problem. Vdu_cache does not contain the field value but if you try to get the field from the vdu variable, it succeds. But as Istvan says, it results an extra VOX operation.

This fix will be in the next DD 4.1 patch release. For now, just use the extra step, but the next patch will resolve it.

This issue is getting critical for us. When will this patch be released?

The 4.1.10 service pack was just posted to support.avaya.com today.
