» AES SMS Calls to CM using SSH Key authentication instead of user@IPaddress:port, 15/01/2019 12:22:33

Thanks Mike and John. I understand the existing auth mechanisms that are in place. I understand it's a pretty old arrangement. I'm in an IT group that places a lot of emphasis on security, single sign-on tools and generally frowns on our scripts having to handle passwords.
I'm simply trying to build a better mousetrap.

Mike, you've told me all the things I already know. If I knew what user account AES used, I could create one name the same in CM and create and stage the public key. Given all that, it's reasonable to assume that CM could use the public key to authenticate. Again, is this possible, or is it simply a capability that Avaya did not consider when they designed the API?
Thanks - Tom Lynn

Under which user account does the AES server make SMS service calls? Is it possible for that user to generate a Key and place it onto my CM server so that I can dispense with the password when making these service calls?
I've already prove that CM will allow me to login without a password if I put my public key in my user/.ssh directory. I'd like to use this method with SMS calls, simplifying the security around password handling.
Thank you,
Tom Lynn

Thanks Michael. I don't control exchange and so I'm looking for a fix, rather than a workaround.

I'm trying to send an e-mail using a workflow. As seen in other posts, the email is queued, but never goes out. ce logs show a certificate is failing, but I'm not using SMTPS, I have that set to false.
Any ideas of what I can check?

Craig,
Is there any way to change the 10 second timeout behavior? I need a complete list of extensions, which number over 4000 and regardless of my network speed, there's no way that CM will deliver that within 10 seconds. This timeout seems arbitrary and low.

Craig, CM is searching through over 7000 stations while searching for this specific set type. I liked the suggestion of using the count modifier. By changing it incrementally, I've established the call succeeds for 4 or fewer stations and always failes at 5 stations or above.
I don't see anything unusual in the terminal emulator when I list out 5 stations. I did establish that the 5th station is out of service, so I changed it set type. Once changed, this set no longer shows in the ASA based list, but the SMS call continues to fail when I attempt more than 4 stations. I can only conclude there was nothing special about that station and that I won't learn much more about this without looking in the logs you called out. More to come.

@johnbiggs, Thanks for replying. I have less than 2-dozen of the 9621 sets. I actually have far more of the 1692 sets that complete. I estimate < 15 seconds to return the 9621 list using the ASA terminal emulator.
@craig, how service impacting to dmcc and tsapi will it be to make the changes you've outlined. The AES supports a live production call center and I need to advertise any impacts.
Thanks, guys!

Using SMS, I'm able to get a list of stations of type 1692, allowing me to generate a list of the extensions belonging to this type of conference phone.
When I try to do the same request, but change he set type to 9621 I receive an error: Read Failure. The CM connection may have been lost.
I can list stations of this set type from the SAT terminal without issues.
Here is the captured Request and Result, first for the 1692 set and then for the 9621 set:

Thank you, Craig. Very creative troubleshooting trying a single field.
For my purposes, a single field will do. I'm simply trying to identify agents that haven't staffed in a give time period.
