Description of the issue:

The Avaya Application Simulator (AAS) doesn't work on the OD (any release) running on Windows 10/11 fresh installed or recently upgraded/updated.
The AAS doesn' t start and seems stuck.

OD releases affected:
All releases (including the latest OD 8.1.2)

Windows releases affected:
All releases (including the latest Windows 11), all versions (Professional, Home, Education, etc..)

Troubleshooting:

Please, check on logs for any error message.

Enable the trace setting the OD as the attached picture at the bottom.
The location of logs is present in the file ddlog4j.properties, usually it is under the directory

<your_workspace_directory>\<application_name_directory>\data\log

this folder should contain

report.log
trace.log
error.log

Check also the <Tomcat_home>\logs\catalina .<Year-Month-Day>.txt log in the Apache Tomcat app server (or equivalent file in other app servers) containing the exact moment the error happened.

Root cause of the issue: (Thanks Andres Morales)

Latest Windows updates/upgrades have replaced the DLL library

C:\Windows\System32\msvcr100.dll

with

C:\Windows\System32\msvcr130.dll

so the Eclipse is no longer able to find the msvcr100 library required by the Avaya Application Simulator to work.

Workaround:

If you are able to copy/download/extract/export the msvcr100.dll library at your location from another Windows machine/host (a Windows still containing that DLL library) or from the web, paste that .dll file into your C:\Windows\System32 directory/folder then restart the OD and test.

If you have no chance to retrieve the msvcr100.dll library at your location, please open a DevConnect Technical Support ticket asking for that library

https://www.devconnectprogram.com/technicalTicket/create

In case you don't have a Devconnect account, please register and use your Devconnect ID to access the link above.

When you receive the library, paste that .dll file into your C:\Windows\System32 directory/folder then restart the OD and test.
