I should know the answer to this but I must have forgotten. I am attempting to run the application simulator and receiving the error message : Target platform must be set to desktop... I know how to set the target during the export process but cannot seem to figure out how to change it to allow simulation. Oh while I am at it, I am running OD7 with Tomcat 7 as the container. I cannot change the container to TC 7 in the defaults. It keeps offering Tomcat 6.

Now the light bulb over my head is illuminated. We are about to try this out. On another note, I will let you know how I am doing with the Rest Web service call momentarily. Thanks for the help.

I see... So there would be two JOINS in my scenario? The first join JOINS the existing inbound call to the newly created conference the the second JOIN adds the outbound call recipient to the call? Is this correct?

In this scenario we have an inbound caller who needs to be connected to an outside person. We keep the caller and his dialog "on hold" while the IVR places an outbound call. After the outbound recipient answers we play him a menu and if he accepts, we need to conference the original inbound to the newly placed outbound. We need to use a conference rather than a merge for call recording purposes. We successfully place the outbound on another outbound port then attempt to join. Both ports are held up but the two calls are never actually joined. What additional transition steps are needed and what commands need to be issued?
Here is the section of the CCXML that we have so far:
<transition event="dialog.exit" state="agentaccepted">
<log expr="'##### LOG Time2Time - dialog.exit - agentaccepted ##### STATE: ' + state"/>
<assign name="state" expr="'merged'"/>
<createconference conferenceid="conferenceid" />
<!--<createconference conferenceid="conferenceid" confname="confname" reservedtalkers="reserved" reservedlisteners="reserved" />
<merge connectionid1="in_connectionid" connectionid2="out_connectionid"/>-->
</transition>
<transition event="conference.created" state="merged">
<log expr="' eventdata... \n' + objectToString(event$)" />
<log expr = "'In the conference.created event conferenceid is ' + conferenceid"/>
<assign name="conferenceid" expr="event$.conferenceid" />
<join id1="event$.conferenceid" id2="in_connectionid" />
</transition>

Thanks Wilson. I wanted to confirm that because we are using the Avaya ACR 12 automatic call recorder (Verint Impact 360 OEMed by Avaya) and it seems unable to support this type of call recording trigger. I wanted to have my facts straight regarding the IVR components.

In this scenario an inbound caller hits the switch, is sent to the IVR, selects a menu then is placed on "hold" (listening to a hold music recording in the IVR). The IVR places an outbound call then, when the outbound call is answered, issues a "merge" command with the result that the original caller is now connected to the outbound destination and the IVR is no longer in the mix. We currently place the outbound calls on PRI trunks but we are about to place them via SIP.
Here's are my questions:
1. Does the IVR, when placing the outbound call, go through CM to place it?
2. How are the two calls actually merged?

Our setup has the caller hitting the IVR on <trunk 1> being placed on hold while the IVR grabs <trunk 2> and places an outbound call. Upon answer of the outbound call, the two trunks are merged and the IVR drops out. We need a contiguous recording from the beginning of the call (trunk 1) through the end of the call (merged trunks). How will the ACR (Impact 360) know to "stitch" these two segments together under one CallID? In other words, how can the iNum from each segment recording be matched?

I am looking for API documentation for the Contact Store. Specifically, I am searching for a Programmers' Reference or User Guide. Where might I grab these documents?

My server is throwing a 401 (unauthorized) error when I pass in the credentials via the header. I am wondering if there is a way to verify if I am using the correct credentials or now. This would seem obvious but my IT guys tell me that accessing via the browser requires a different set of credentials than accessing via the API. The browser access works well.

I do not know if this is the correct forum but... I am passing a URL to the server and receiving a en error:
URL
http://10.15.227.141:8080/searchapi?command=search&layout=searchapi¶m1_callid=00002001171433344652&operator_callid=1
ERROR
<errors errorcode="1" errorstring="no layout"/>.
What am I missing here? Also, what is the safest way to pass authentication credentials? (an example would help)

I see what you are getting at but wouldn't the author of the calling app then have to add his or her own servlet to pull the property and set its value into his or her own dialog variable? What I prefer to do is pass a variable out of the servlet and have the servlet node pass that variable back to the calling app. Is this possible? It is OK if not because I can publish the information in the documentation for the java file.

Interesting... Are you suggesting that I set a property and not a variable? Can you point me to some documentation on that method? What property can I set?

I would like to pass a variable out from my Java servlet to the calling dialog. I am currently setting a project variable within the servlet and looking at that variable from the dialog upon return. I do not like this technique because that means every dialog using this java code will need to know and create that variable. I prefer to pass out a local variable for later consumption.
How should I pass it out from the java?

Is there a way to extract the current time of day from within the OD 7 dialog or should I drop into Java?
