Avaya Aura Application Enablement Services

Latest Release: 10.2 (Dec 2023)

Interfaces

DevConnect supports the following AE Services interfaces:

Device, Media and Call Control (DMCC) APIs

The DMCC Java, XML and .NET APIs enable client applications to access device, media and call control capabilities provided by Avaya Aura Communication Manager. Device control enables manipulation and monitoring of the physical aspects of the endpoint devices in a call, such as their buttons and display. Media control enables voice stream RTP data to be recorded and analyzed, and for pre-recorded RTP data to be sent as outgoing voice streams. Call control enables access to advanced third-party call control capabilities, such as making and manipulating calls, creating ad hoc conferences, transferring calls and so on.

System Management Service (SMS) Web service

The SMS Web service provides a standard SOAP-based interface that enables client applications to access and administer selected features and vectors on Avaya Aura Communication Manager.

Web Telephony Interface

The Web Telephony Interface (WTI) service offers existing AE Services CTI interfaces as REST APIs, enabling cloud services and on-premises CTI applications to access CTI capabilities through these REST APIs. These APIs allow easy integration with enterprise applications and aggregation of services to implement compound operations. To find out what capabilities are currently available, see the Web Telephony Interface Reference, available in the Releases -> Downloads section for the release of Avaya Aura Application Enablement Services you are using.

Telephony Web service

The Telephony Web Service provides a standard SOAP-based interface that enables client applications to access basic call control capabilities including make call, single step conference, single step transfer, disconnect active call and answer inbound call.

Effective with release 8.1.3.2, the Telephony Web Services SDK is discontinued. Developers should use the Avaya Aura AE Services Web Telephony Interface Services for new development.

Java Telephony API (JTAPI)

JTAPI enables the development of Java clients that can access the advanced third party call control capabilities provided by Avaya Aura Communication Manager.

Telephony Services API (TSAPI)

TSAPI enables the development of C and C++ clients that can access the advanced third party call control capabilities provided by Avaya Aura Communication Manager.

Note: CallVisor LAN (CVLAN) is a legacy AE Services interface and should not be used for new application development. CVLAN Client downloads are available via the portal for the purpose of maintaining existing applications only. DevConnect does not provide support nor compliance testing for any CVLAN-based solution and any technical support for an existing third-party CVLAN solution must be obtained via a formal customer SR.
