New features in SIP 6.3 include:
- The SIP 6.3 software release introduces a series of predefined "Acoustic Headset Profiles" for use with headsets. The ability to select a specific acoustic profile for use with a particular headset ensures that the acoustic performance of the 96x1 Series SIP Deskphone and a vendor’s headset are ideally matched to provide a best-in-class audio experience.
- Calling and called party specific ring tones, and support for additional ring tones.
- Users can connect to the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 to gain access to Exchange contacts, appointments, and reminders.
- Support for 100 emergency numbers.
- Users can use HTTPS for secure deskphone software upgrades.
- PHY2 tagging enables control of whether VLAN tags are removed from the frames that a deskphone forwards to the secondary Ethernet interface.
- The Access Control List enables control of whether the deskphone automatically
confirms a request from a watcher to monitor user presence.
- Up to 10 SIP devices can be registered at a single extension.
