New In This Release

For information about compatibility with Avaya Aura, and feature limitations based on Avaya Aura component releases, see the Readme document available under the Downloads - Release Information tab.

New features in SIP 6.3 include:

  • The SIP 6.3 software release introduces a series of predefined "Acoustic Headset Profiles" for use with headsets. The ability to select a specific acoustic profile for use with a particular headset ensures that the acoustic performance of the 96x1 Series SIP Deskphone and a vendor’s headset are ideally matched to provide a best-in-class audio experience.
  • Calling and called party specific ring tones, and support for additional ring tones.
  • Users can connect to the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 to gain access to Exchange contacts, appointments, and reminders.
  • Support for 100 emergency numbers.
  • Users can use HTTPS for secure deskphone software upgrades.
  • PHY2 tagging enables control of whether VLAN tags are removed from the frames that a deskphone forwards to the secondary Ethernet interface.
  • The Access Control List enables control of whether the deskphone automatically confirms a request from a watcher to monitor user presence.
  • Up to 10 SIP devices can be registered at a single extension.

For detailed information about what's new in the release, see the Readme document, available under the Downloads - Release Information tab.
